Must have been a really tough time. I cannot imagine living like the Cunninghams and not knowing where my next meal was coming from. As if life on a farm wasn't hard enough already, I'm sure the financial troubles of the time must have been very scary. Not only for the children, but the maybe even worse for their parents. I would be very upset not being able to promise my kids anything.

The depression was a tough time but look on the bright side the U.S. learned alot from it.There are several things that prevent that from ever happening again!Walter Cunningham is strong!!I admire him for what he does!He dosn't let life get him down and does everything he can for his family and to get by.
