Pictures, Inspirations, and Reading!

Hello everyone! Well, this week we started reading "To Kill a Mockingbird," and I have to say that it's an "okay" book right now. There's a lot of people involved already in the book. But, I do like how the book is so "real life." Another person in the blog had blogged about how they remember playing imaginary games. I remember playing house or acting like my sister and I were the president's daughters. We had a lot of imagination, just like Jem and Scout. At the end of chapter four, the thing that creeped me out a little bit was when Scout was talking about how she thought she heard someone laughing when Jem had rolled her into the Radley's yard, when they were playing with the tire. That was weird. I also didn't understand the thing about the gum being in the tree and finding the pennies there, too.

So, in our teacher's blog, she talked about what inspired her and I agreed that music was a huge inspiration! A lot of things inspire me, too! Really good movies are touching and they make you feel like you want to go out and do something amazing that will change world! Music inspires me in many ways, too. I, too, feel that when I listen to different kinds of music, whether it's loud or soft, that it influences the mood of my writing. My friends and family also inspire me a lot!

Today, we also did an activity where we chose a picture representing the depression. My picture was of a porch of a sharecropper's cabin. This was an interesting picture because it kind of represented how people were hit hard because of the depression. Sharecroppers were hit very hard and they couldn't afford a lot of things. In the picture, the planks of the floor are destroyed and the poles of the cabin were falling.
