A Hollywood Connection to Mockingbird
I saw the movie 300 this weekend. Twice throughout the movie, I thought of this class. There were numerous referances to Greek gods and culture, which we studied earlier. And, more related to Mockingbird, a character in the movie states that "in Sparta, all men are not created equal." Also, a reaccuring theme in the movie has to do with women's role in society. Both of these were questions on our pre-reading survey and themes in Mockingbird! The female protagonist in the movie reminds me alot of scout, because they are both very intelligent and want to be treated equally. I'm kind of surprised to find myself making connections between movies and my homework :-/

That cool that you can relate the books we read to movie and others. What was that movie 300 about?
WOW! That is really cool. I have also been hearing and seeing lots of things about greek mythology and To Kill a Mockingbird. I, also plan to watch the movie 3oo it looks really exxciting.

Umm its kinda like the Alamo...basically. But with alot more gore and violence :-/

Those 300 Spartans must have been on the juice or something. Either that or the million man army was actually a nursery filled with babies, who threw bottles of milk.
nah they just like, backed em up into a narrow corner so they just fought waves of soldiers rather then the entire army at once =p
That is cool that you made connections.Sometimes I find myself doing that and I think that it makes me look like a nerd.Oh well.
