A Relaxing Read

This weekend I when decided to read To Kill a Mockingbird I decided to go out side and read because it was so nice outside. So I asked two of my sisters if they wanted to go read with me. They wanted to and so we went outside on the back porch with a couple of blankets and read. I enjoyed the sound of the chirping birds and the sound of nature while reading To Kill a Mockingbird. It was very relaxing. I started to really get into the book.
When I started chapter five and how she was spending more time with Miss Maudie it reminded me of when my sister and I would go to our neighbor’s house and sit and visit with her. Some times we would help her clean her house or maybe we would make cookies with her. She was a widow and had a little poodle. I thought that it was cute how Scout’s uncle would yell across the street to her every Christmas and ask her to marry him.
I also liked how Dill, Jem, and Scout were all so curious to get Boo Radley out of his house. But my favorite part in the reading for the weekend was when Dill made up the excuse that they were playing strip poker when Atticus saw that Jem did not have pants on and how quick Jem was to say that they were playing with matches and not playing cards. I think that if I was in his situation I could not come up with something that smart on the spot.
Well I can not wait to continue reading the book because it is getting so interesting.
