I just got in from a late practice and I thought I would post before I go to bed. I must confess that at first glance of the book To Kill A Mockingbird, a wave of dread swept over my mind. I thought this book would only be about the old south and their terrible racism, but I was wrong. I started to read the book after school and I just could not stop. I was hooked. My mind set on the book really changed and I think that I will enjoy reading this. The main character, Scout, amuses me with the way she taught herself to read by watching her dad and looking through his newspapers, magazines, and books. It is also fun to connect with how Scout, her brother Jem, and their friend Dill all play together. They really let their imaginations run wild like I probable did when I was younger. I can't wait to read more and discover the secret of the mysterious Radley house.
PS This picture looks kind of like I would imagine the Radley house with big trees and a tattered shingle roof.
