I have come to the conclusion, that allot of people, don't treat people with respect! For example, a lady under the name of Satuskei had to change her name to sandy cause she didn't have an American name! She couldn't do anything about it. She stayed with that name till she was 35. She then realized that, that was not who she was. She was Satuskei! Who was this sandy? Her father was a poetry teacher, and thought of her name really hard. Also, people are afraid of what we Americans think of them. For the longest period of time, we have been judging people by the way they look, there religion, and where they are from. Which thus made them afraid of us.

Um they changed their name we didn't. A lot of foreign people do that just to truly experiance americanization. It is sad she was sfraid but she should not have blamed it on the American people. I like foreign names they are different and cool. I think we accept them with open arms. Anyway I think she just liked sandy better at the time because she was insecure. Now she wants her real name. It is not sad it is just a decision many immigrants make each day. Welcome to America.
I know everyone judges everyone you could say it is always going to be a part of life because think how you choose your friends?Or if you like a person's speech? They make a first impression on you when they walk it to the room.By their body language and how they carry themselves you decide then and there if you like the person.
You are exactly right. Just go up to a person of Arabic descent and ask them what life was like for them after nine-eleven. They suffered so much persecution that was mostly undeserved. It is the same for the Japanese internment camps during WW2. Just because of a name or color we immediatly got scared about if this person was a terrorist. Because us "normal" Americans were discriminating against Arabics they found it necessary to change their names. I think I must politely disagree with clayton bigsby. Also what is a normal American? No one is technically an American unless you were an American Indian. We all come from many different places and most of us have many descents like Irish, or German relatives.
You are not disagreeing with me. If you tried then stop being "polite" because if you are trying to disagree with me then just so it. It won't offend me.
No her teacher changed her name clayton bigsby. She didnt want to, the teacher changed her name to sound more american.
Spottyc! Thankyou for that strong post! That is what I was wanting to say! Thankyou!
Well the teacher changing her name is a big deal!!! That is stupid and that changes everything I said. You should have put it in your post so it is not my fault. That is a big factor and you should have put it in your post.
