Wanting to win

Excitement filled me up.

Not knowing what to expect,

We walked in together being a like.

As we went in a smell so tempting greeted us at the door.

It turned into a delight of food like one would find at the Dixie Stampede.

Dancing was the best part.

We entertained in square and in a line.

We all gathered around in the shape of a horseshoe.

Just to find out who surpassed who.

In my mind I was ready for triumph.

Names were being called,

I was filled with hope.

Waiting to hear my name,

Finally it came.

We won for being the best dressed.
