The love of the game

We sit so gleam with squinting eyes as the sun beats down onto our faces
Taking in the moment we spend together
With the aroma of grilled hot dogs and cheesy nachos
All pain and worries are absent
With the whip of the bat
Watching the baseball ripple down the bright fresh green sod
Fans so devoted with a stream of red
We look at each other in a pool of sweat but we smile and don't move a muscle for we
couldn't leave for the love of the game
This truly is the place where we understand each other the most
For it hurts us when the other team boos our payers for we are so close to them
As they win we cheer with delight
Not wanting to leave the place we love the most
Time to go back to worries and doubts for we will be back soon to this same moment
again
