So I've been thinking about it and I think song lyrics are some of the prettiest poetry. They can be stupid, but they can also have the most meaning and depth. Also they get to be so well known. If I had it my way all poems would have a melody, but I really like music so that may be why. This is one of my favorite song lyrics. It was our team song last year so it hits close to home.
Good Riddance
By Green Day
Another turning point
A fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist
Directs you where to go
So make the best of this test
And don't ask why
It's not a question
But a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life
So take the photographs
And still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf of
Good health and good time
Tattoos of memories
And dead skin on trial
For what it's worth
It was worth all the while
It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life
It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life
It's something unpredictable
But in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life

Oh My Goodness, this is my favorite sad song! (if that makes any sense) It's a tradition at camp to play this song the last day, and talk about a tear jerker. Well anyway, I think that music is creative poetry, and I wish I had the talent to write it! :D
Yeah I totally agree!! Some of the most beautiful poetry is song lyrics. I absolutely love music to!! The music just makes the poetry seem even moe beautiful!! It would be cool if every poem could have a melody!!
