An Old Duck

An Old Duck

Eerie night a full moon shines bright
Men and fish all rested in bed
Only a lone duck paddles through the dark murky waters
He paddles like a torpedo cutting through the water
Just a little further he sees the dock
Bountiful beautiful boats bobbing in the bay
Duck hops with springs in his legs onto a boat
What a stunning sight
The lake looks a lot different now
The old duck never had this perspective
The lake was glistening
But now the moon has risen
And the duck’s time has come
He falls back through the shadows
The shadows of time and space
Old ducks die, ducklings will live
