Would You Ever Die For Love?

While reading Romeo and Juliet I have often thought if I would ever die for love like Romeo and Juliet did. I have decided that I wouldn't. I would be absolutely hysterical if my husband or boyfriend died. However, I would never take my life to be able to be dead with them. I would still have my whole life ahead of me and I wouldn't want to lose that because of one traumatic experience. As I said before losing the person that I love would be really hard to get through, but I would never hurt the other people who love me and take MY life because of it.

Yeah but then it wouldn't be Romeo and Juliet. They only cared about each other. that is what this whole play is about. They chose each other even when they were suppose to marry other people. Who cares about there parents. It was true love.

I don't think I would do that. But I don't know alot of people DO do that so I guess it would be really hard to say since I haven't experienced that yet.

I think that is a very insightful blog. I totally agree with you guys because I think that is like suicide. Suicide is a very selfish action because they don't think about the other people in their lives. Like in Romeo and Juliet, they didn't even think about all the other people in their lives that would miss them. They only thought about themselves because they were selfish and didn't even want to try to go on with out their spouse.

Yeah I don't agree with suicide but the play would not have been the same. If Romeo just died then Juliet would just be another widow. Killing herself made this play. If she didn't then it was just another sad story. Killing herself made this a heart-wrenching story. Now this would be horrible in real life but this a play with the perfect ending.

The other day at church my pastor was saying that everyone is full of something. You tell what you are full of by looking at how you react under pressure. Suicide is a form of acting under pressure that shows how full a person is of themself.
