Amazing Grace




The movie Amazing Grace is based on the life of antislavery pioneer, William Wilberforce. The character William Wilberforce, shown in picture

above. The man in the picture on the left is Olaudah Equiano, a character who was sold into slavey as a child and later bought his way out of slavery as an adult. Heis showing in the picture where he was branded by his slave owner. Amazing Grace.

That is a pretty nasty scar. That would hurt to be branded like a cow.

That looks like it would hurt.This looks like a very good movie, and it would help me to better understand the story of a slave.

That would be a very touching story to read. When he showed this brand it made me think of how cruel and horrid slavery was. Things like this get me so fired up and mad that a person could do something so inhumane. Is this a book because it would be great for in class reading?
