I read "To Kill A Mockingbird" again last night and I am almost finished! While I was reading I was really surprised that Dolphus Raymond was just a fake! Not in a bad way though because instead of having whiskey he had COCA-COLA!! I thought that was really funny because the only reason that he did it is because people thought he was crazy! They thought he was crazy because he was a "Negro Lover" and he used his drunkenness as an excuse for his craziness! I thought that it was dishonest but I was glad that he wasn't a drunk. I would probably do it too if I was in his situation because I am ornery. I think that deep inside he is a good man because he does believe that African-Americans are equal but i don't think that he should have to make excuses for his belief!

In my opinion Mr. Dolphus is kind of a coward because he is too afraid that people will say bad things about him so he pretends to be a drunk.
I think that Mr.Dolphus shouldn't hide bgehind the bottle.This just shows he doesn't want to stand up for his beliefs,but I do see why he does it because he and his family could be badly hurt or killed for his beliefs.
