heart shaped pill

The scene in the movie where he gets the heart shaped pill i believe took away from shakespears true meaning of love. I belive that the pill represented that the dream fairy was a drug to romeo when really dreams were what romeo needed to be relying on. He needed to follow his dreams not consider them a drug. I dont believe that Shakespear would have liked the way that the director used the pill. the pill brought everyone out of the true feeling of romeo and juliet in love. Even though the pill might have been representing love as a drug we still lose focus of what is the real story. Do you guys agree or do you think shakespear would have liked the heart shaped pill?

I totally agree. I think it takes away the meaning of that part. I don't think shakespear would of liked it. I think he made the play they exact way he wanted it. I dont think anyone should change it.

I doubt Shakespere would appreciate ANY alterations to his tragedy...however personally I liked the pill metaphor.

i am pretty sure that shakespeare would not like anything about this movie. the pill totally reminds me of ecstacy or something like that

I agree Shakespeare originally wrote the play and I think he is the only person who knows exactly how to interpret it because he made it up with HIS imagination.

It took away from the story I really agree with you.The pill makes me think that they need a drug to be in love or in other words to be happy. They put the pill with happiness when the love between Romeo and Juliet is completely different then a high.
